Optimum Synthesis of Four-Bar Mechanism by Using Relative Angle Method: A Comparative Performance Study

In this paper, the dimensional synthesis of four-bar mechanism for path generation is formulated using relative angle motion analysis and link geometry parameterization with Cartesian coordinates. The Optimum Dimensional Synthesis Relative Angles space Parameterization (ODSRA+CP) stated as an optimization problem, solution given by differential evolution variant DE/best/1/bin. This study investigates behavior performance such formulation performs a comparative empirical well-known method based on vector-loop equation where different modifications in metaheuristic algorithms are established literature to improve obtained solution. Five cases without prescribed timing solved analyzed. results show that way stating problem ODSRA+CP significantly improves search process finding promising solutions optimizer requiring algorithm modifications. Therefore, it confirmed optimal mechanisms not only improving solutions, but also has significant influence better solutions.
